Producing a Natural looking Tough Waxed Finish for Oak

Natural oils and waxes are very popular on oak, but they tend to take a lot of applications to "feed" and nourish the wood. This means they're not practical where a job needs to be completed quickly or where increased protection is required such as on a bathroom door or a bath panel.

An easy finish to use is Finney's Extra Tough Waxed Finish which combines special resins to give protection plus dry waxes to produce a superb waxed feel. On furniture you can achieve an even silkier feel by applying a single application of Finney's Clear Superior Finishing Wax buffing with an Extra Soft Polishing Cloth.

Finney's Extra Tough Waxed Finish is environmentally safe, low odour and is touch dry in around 15 to 30 minutes producing a matt / satin sheen level.

If you prefer a higher shine (satin) Finney’s Microporous Hardwax Oil will give a low maintenance finish which is harder wearing than Danish Oil but with the appearance of an oiled and waxed finish.
